    Comments, Additional Information, References

The house at 9180 Fargo Road was known for many years as the William Hanson house. It was built of field stones in 1831 by John Warren who came from Bishop's Taunton, Devonshire, England, the previous year. It features a modern addition designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Richard Palmer blog.

Warren - Hanson Home: There are two cobblestone houses in the Town, both on Fargo Road, formerly known as Road 45. The one on the west side about opposite the Sweetland Road was the home of John Warren, great grandfather of Mrs. Frank Miner and Miss Lura Ware. He came from Bishops Tawton, Devonshire, England, in 1831 and settled there, living in a log cabin for a short time. He built, or had built, the cobblestone house later in the 1830's, using stones from the farm. It is thought that Giles Miner may also have built this house. An unusual feature was the lack of windows on either end of the house. In the late 1800's John Heywood lived there and at the present time William Hanson owns the house and lives there. He purchased it some years ago and has built a new modern wing onto the north end of the building. Courtesy Stafford Sesquicentennial 1820-1970, page 68.
